3. Upper Limit

The Upper Limit is the maximum Salary Cap Hit of all players counting towards the active roster.  Often referred to as "Salary Cap".  This is determined in the summer and is based on the previous season's revenues, per the CBA. 

The Upper Limit is based on League Revenues, as the CBA limits the total players' salaries to 50% of League Revenues.
