Bought out Player Retiring
With Sekera retiring, does the buyout cap hit for the Oilers of $1.5M in 2022-23 come off the Oilers books?

Jul 19, 2022No, once a player is bought out, the buy out cap hit remains for the team. The player retiring or playing has no impact on the buyout cap hit.
