Palat LTIR

If the Devils place Ondrej Palat on LTIR and do not use the space afforded by LTIR on any other players, does his daily cap hit accrue cap space for the days he is out?

Nope, when a team is in LTIR, cap space does not accrue. So, whether they use part or none of Palat’s $6M while he’s on LTIR, it does not help them at all in any future days, while in LTIR or if they later exit LTIR.
